Le syndicalisme agricole et la noblesse en France de 1884 à 1914.

Claude-Isabelle Brelot

Abstracts

The new law about agricutural syndicates (1884) authorize the revival of patronage in favour of french nobility. In Union centrale des syndicats agricoles de la rue d'Athènes, 10 on 15 unions régionales have been created by a noble and, locally, the management councils are noble bastions. Discredited as the " parti des châteaux ", the syndicalisme agricole change the relations between castle and village. It is an advance in acculturation of nobility to modernity. Consideration about représentation professionnelle, want of country sociability, creation of agricultural teaching and of an itinerant house-keeping teaching for youngs women show the wish of education of new peasant elites and a particular interest for women's roll in country society.
